Brothers Alon and Jacob Cohen have named their restaurant after their mother. Their children and all of their cousins call her Mémé; French Moroccan for Grandma. When the Cohen family emigrated from Morocco to Israel, they brought with them their flair for hospitality and good food. Jacob’s menu creates a culinary trip around the Mediterranean using fresh ingredients and special spices still shipped directly from his mother, who still lives in Israel. Alon described it best; the flair at Mémé will spark a “party in your mouth.”
Mémé caters to two neighborhoods in the city; in the West Village on 581 Hudson & Bank Sts., and in the Theater District, in Hells kitchen on 44th St and 10th Ave. Whether for lunch, brunch or dinner, at Mémé you’ll enjoy a wide variety of Mediterranean tapas, Moroccan-style entrees & a full bar, in a warm casual and romantic setting. Weather permitting you’ll appreciate Mémé’s outdoor patios while enjoying some of the best food and drinks New York has to offer.
